Doing a world of good, together!
re-source™ is a mission-driven brand – we want to inspire people to recycle more and raise awareness about the need for improved recycling programs in the U.S.
Recognizing that we alone cannot solve this problem, we have been collaborating with some like-minded partners to develop the re-source brand. Our partners are:
Whole Foods Market, where re-source natural spring water is sold, and in some locations where on-site GreenOps Tracking Stations are being piloted, plastic beverage bottles can be recycled.
GreenOps, a subsidiary of Waste Management, supplies the on-site GreenOps Stations, manages the recycling operations, and enables people to track their recycling efforts.
McDonough Braungart Design Chemistry (MBDC), the creators of Cradle to Cradle Design, helped us think through a more environmentally conscious plastic bottle.
As our way of saying thanks to you, we will donate 5 cents for each plastic beverage bottle recycled at a GreenOps Station in Whole Foods Market stores to Keep America Beautiful.*
re-source received a silver Cradle to Cradle certification, and carries the GreenOps seal as a mark of our commitment to sustainable recycling solutions.
*Up to an aggregate of $200,000, with a minimum donation of $50,000.

These days, everyone's recycling, right? You would think so. It is, after all, the era of "green." Undoubtedly people are reporting that they're doing more recycling lately, and rising recovery rates attest to that. But these increases are slow. Access to convenient recycling isn't universal, and even in areas that do have robust recycling options, a lot of valuable materials are still winding ...

Recycle This Bottled Water

Here is a great video we came across that shows recycling as part of our generation’s mission. Although plastic water bottles make up only 1/3 of 1% of all landfill waste, we think that is even too much. In the video, a well informed teenage eco-ambassador has one goal: to increase the number of recycling bins...

The Many Uses of Recycled Plastic

I’m always amazed to see what people can do with stuff that otherwise might just have been thrown away. A big part of why I’m so passionate about the re-source™ recycling mission is because I find the ingenuity that goes into reusing things inspiring.  But even more importantly, I think it reassures me that collectively “we” are continuing to push tow...
